Main Task Introduction

We have been ask to create a music magazine of our own invention. I have decided to create a magazine of a more sophisticated nature. My Magazine will be monthly and directed at an older audience. The task will ask me to demonstrate skills i have learnt during the preliminary task, as shown below.

Evaulation.

This is my finished front for my magazine. Overall im pleased with it, i think the color scheme of black and white works well, and the font compliments the night life tone of the magazine. However i think i could have made the picture a little bigger and made it overlap one of the headings to create a feeling of depth. I would have also tried to sort out the white line around my 'models' head so it looked more professional, and found a font that made numbers as well as letters as i had to substitute from other fonts.


















This is the finished contents page. In the white boxes would be appropriate pictures that reflects the text. I stuck with the same font and color scheme as i thought it worked . The layout of the pictures of text conforms with the grid idea of magazines but the pictures break up just columns of text. However i may have made the title a little bigger or put a white border round it all. Overall i am very happy with both.

Photographs

For the front of my magazine we took 2 pictures to choose from. The first one was this one. My magazine front is going to have a club feel, by setting it on a black background and making thew font white so i wanted a dancey pose to reflect this. Christy's didn't have enough enthusiasm in this one.








However this one was much better, it looks like a natural photo of someone dancing to club music. The flash also gives that sense of bright lights and when i photoshopped it, to tailor it to the magazine it looked like this...










The photoshop allowed me to create a false darkness, like he were in the club.

Introduction

We have been asked to design and create a magazine for Sussex downs college Lewes. I decided to aim the magazine at the students , so aiming it at 16-20 age group. The demographic is busy teenagers with little time for reading for pleasure, so my magazine is more of a fun magazine with useful information about outside college.
